VAMPIRISM.POWERS. enhanced senses, invulnerability to most injuries, rapid regeneration, longevity, ability to conjure and manipulate mist (can be used as cover/distraction or just to be spooky), hypnosis (which he is skilled at to the point that he can hypnotize most other vampires and supernatural beings, but in some cases it's more akin to persuasion rather than full-on hypnosis, if he can do it at all), pyrokinesis, telepathy (he is unable to read minds but can receive thoughts & information from those who send it deliberately, and is able to send his own thoughts to others), resistance to all psychic abilities (it's nearly impossible to read his mind, hypnotize him, etc., unless he is weakened and/or sleeping; he's at his most vulnerable when in a fatigue induced slumber)WEAKNESSES. lacks the enhanced speed and strength of most vampires and is weaker than most humans, can be killed by significant damage to or separation of his heart from his head, fire (only technically; his ability to manipulate fire neutralizes the threat), or exposure to sunlight for more than several seconds (approximately 30). contact with silver will burn his skin, and take longer to heal than most injuries. he must be invited in to enter private dwellings, but he is able to enter public spaces freely. he requires his ancestral soil beneath him in order to sleep. he is unaffected by religious items, areas, and garlic. he casts no reflection only in silver-backed mirrors. his ability to regenerate is usually slower than that of most other vampires (details below).MORE INFO. vampirism did not cure his ms. while his disease will not progress any further, all of the permanent damage caused by ms that was already done at the time of his turning has remained. he has limited mobility, as well as general muscle weakness, hence why he lacks the strength and speed of most vampires. his nervous system is frequently being damaged and healing, which slows his ability to regenerate from other injuries. his regeneration has no effect on his symptoms; it only prevents the disease from progressing.he has mysophobia (or "germophobia"), and prefers to feed by first having the skin surrounding the victim's artery disinfected, and then having their blood drained into a container for him. this is usually done by a familiar. he has no involvement in obtaining his own meals, for the most part. he is aware that he cannot contract any illnesses nor infections, but is still extremely bothered by the idea of any unseen particles. at any given time, there will be blood bags in his refrigerator to be reheated, which he also does not do for himself.

NPC CONNECTIONS.bauduin: an ancient vampire who stalked lourdes and read his mind for months before beginning the process of turning him into a vampire. they began an intimate relationship which lasted for only a few years, initially, before bauduin began to grow bored, leading lourdes to seek out his former on-again, off-again lover, marcel. bauduin attempted to kill marcel out of sudden jealousy, but lourdes turned him instead. bauduin left soon after, but has returned periodically over the years to resume their relationship for weeks, months, or years at a time. lourdes has not seen him since 1989, and is unaware of whether or not he is still living. their relationship has always been tumultuous.marcel: a former attorney that lourdes met in the 1880s. they had a physical relationship off and on over the years. after becoming a vampire and resuming their relationship, lourdes learned that he was a lycanthrope. bauduin attempted to kill him out of jealousy, but lourdes saved him by turning him. the transformation into a vampire had the unexpected side effect of changing him permanently into a grotesque combination of a bat, wolf, and human with an insatiable urge to kill. he is still able to reason and speak, but favors killing over the former and finds the latter difficult.he was relocated to the remote louisiana wilderness in order to protect him from being discovered by humans and supernatural beings alike, while allowing him to kill animals and whatever humans he finds without drawing attention. rumors persist of the rougarou lurking in the bayou. he is more difficult to kill than a typical werewolf or vampire. lourdes continues to visit him occasionally, and regularly has familiars lure humans out into the area for him to feed upon.

familiars: these are the humans that work for lourdes personally, and are almost always around him, particularly in public. he does not offer them the prospect of being turned into a vampire in exchange for their service, but instead treats them like employees and simply pays them a generous living wage. they are, by and large, fearful of him and very obedient.he employs a good number of them at any given time, and tends to have one or two that operate as supervisor to the others that he trusts more than the rest (with completing tasks and doing things the way he wants them done).familiar duties include, but are not limited to: finding victims and harvesting their blood properly and without drawing attention (they own a blood drive van which is often used), heating the blood without boiling it or causing it to clot before serving it, cleaning (a far more intensive and time consuming job than one might think; it needs to be done by multiple people, and he requires a lot of cleaning to be done if anyone enters his house), and other basic tasks.they are essentially servants who do anything he needs done that he either can't or won't do for himself. within the world of darkness universe/vtm, some familiars are ghouls, but not all. lourdes has no emotional attachment to any of them by default, and often doesn't know their names.
